Yellow Breeches, 10/29/23

At 8:45AM John and his two sons John and Sam rolled into Precision Fly and Tackle and we set off for a 1/2 day of fun fly fishing. Sam has fly fished but never for trout. The other son had never fly fished until today and John has little time to go out. The water was clear and 53 degrees and nothing hatching. I usually start with a casting lesson, but with the rain quickly coming in we hit the stream. “Dad” John and Sam wanted to try dry a droppers and I set John up with nymphs off an indicator. As the rain set in we all were fishing nymphs off indicators. To end the trip I did a casting lesson and they all were casting very well. Despite the rain, they had a blast and could not believe they hook trout. We got 4 browns to the net and had 10 that slipped away. They are really looking forward to a 2024 spring trip.
