Yellow Breeches, 10/11/24

I spent the day with Josh who wanted to Euro fish all day. We met up before 8AM and fished until 3PM. It was a chilly 37 degrees and was slow to warm up under clear skies and a light breezy. It finally did reach 67 degrees, but not what the “Weather Experts” predicted. The water was 48 degrees and only warmed to 52 degrees. There was not much hatching until around 1PM when we did started seeing some tan and October caddis. Still not much taking off the surface. Josh started out with nymphs and missed a few. He then wanted to try dry/droppers and we both knew that was gonna be iffy. Josh did end up landing 6 wild browns taken on the dropper. We mixed in a few streamers and had some follows. We switched back to nymphs because we both knew these trout were bottom hugging today. Well day ended well with 7 nice rainbows in the net. It was a great time, awesome Euro fisherman and glad he was able to get back to PA after a long time away.
