Yellow Breeches, 09/30/24
It was not a bluebird day, but that’s mother nature. I was waiting for Jason at Mt. Holly and we fished from 9 to noon. Jason has fly fished, but has not done it in years. He wanted a refresher just to be sure. Well, if it was not for the weather he would have killed it. The water was stained, 56 degrees and nothing hatching. It stayed around 61 degrees, light turning to a heavy rain my 10:30AM. I actually did work on a few techniques and casting situations with Jason. Before the rain set in, we tried dry fly fishing. Actually missed a take. Once the rain set in, it was all nymphs off an indicator. The takes were very light and hard to pick up with nymphs. Jason did extremely well with the ways I had him approach the water. He had easily 10 fooled and we did land a small wild brown. Now both him and I sure are drying out from today.
