Yellow Breeches, 09/22/24
Ben John and I waited at the Mt. Holly shop for Amy and Oliver plus Sara and Charlie to show up. It was cloudy, 70 degrees and the water was stained from last night’s storms. We did not see any trout rising, however there were plenty of midges and small BWO’s hatching. We fished from 8:30AM until 1PM. I set off with Charlie and Sara who said they were beginners. Not the case, they just needed to brush up on their stream skills. Ben went upstream and we met up about 1/2 way through the morning. We both quickly switched from dry/droppers to nymphs off indicators due to the stream conditions. It was not long after we switch to nymphs the rods were bent and nets in full use. They all caught some wild browns and a couple mid teen rainbows while losing a few more. We all had a great morning on the water.
