Yellow Breeches, 07/06/24

I met up with Mirna and Jim for a morning of trout fishing. We fished from 8AM until just about noon. To say the least, it was sunny hot and humid. The water is still clear and a fishable 66 degrees. We went all in. I set Jim and Mirna up with dry flies only and it worked out. They had easily 10 brown inhale the caddis and CDC caddis I tied on. I was surprised and we did get a quick picture of a nice rainbow because Mirna was so excited. I had the camera ready as she pulled it from the net for a quick picture. The “Dog Day’s of Summer” have set in. Still, the trout can be caught. Just use caution. Keep and eye on the water temperature and it is not the time of year for the pictures. All the SCPA smaller spring creeks still have to reach the low 60’s. I will focus on them from a morning trip or can walk the river for some smallmouth bass action.
