Yellow Breeches, 07/02/24
I met Jim and Angela for a full day on the water. We left Precision at 8AM and finished up around 3:30PM. It was mostly sunny all day with a cool start of 67 but warmed to 84 degrees. The water was clear with good flow. It was 56 degrees and warmed to 63 degrees. We did see some rising trout to tricos, caddis and terrestrials. Jim was all about Angela learning how to fly fish. So I spent most of the day with her and just put Jim on runs of trout. We all fish dries all day. I did not do a casting lesson with Angela. I put her right on the stream while we worked on casting, line control, mending and much more. By the end she told Jim how much she learned and wanted to learn more from me. They had a banner day. They did not land them all but easily into 40 cookie cutter wild browns 5 to 10 inches and Jim did land 3 over 12 inches. Dog days of summer are back and the trout fishing still is RED HOT!!
