Yellow Breeches, 06/15/23

What a fantastic day! I met up with Dave and Joe at Precision in Mt. Holly and we fished from 8AM until 3:30PM. The antics started right in the parking lot as soon as these two pulled in. It was a day of laughs. Joe has fished all over the world. Dave has been at it for 3 years and does very well. I worked with Joe on reading water and how to properly fish different stream situations better. The weather was spot on. It was 60 degrees, warmed to 78 under calm and sunny skies. The water was low, still 62 degrees and plenty of trout splashing to a few tan caddis. So we fished dry/droppers the entire time. It did not take Joe more than 4 cast and he missed one and Dave landed a wild brown on his third cast. It was like that the rest of the day. Joe missed a rainbow and a brown in the high teens. Water so clear I could see the dropper takes. But still the net stayed wet as we got easily 15 in and had at least 10 more “Should have been”. I so can’t wait for Saturday morning with these two guys. As they told me, “Best trip and great way to start a 3 day venture”. They doing smallmouth with Ben John Friday and back with me Saturday. The “Dynamic Dou” at it again.
