Yellow Breeches, 05/11/24

Basil and I set off at 7:30 AM from Precision in Mt. Holly for a full day on the stream. It was cool and cloudy to start, then some sun and back to clouds which will be bringing more rain soon. The breeches is flowing pretty good from Mt. Holly downstream and then stained and rising flow upstream. Still no evidence today that the hatches are starting. We were to fish the entire day, but after Basil’s morning he wanted to head home to make a delightful supper for his wife and get me home to check on Tracy. I fished him with nymphs and indicators. I may have worn out my new Fishpond net with all the trout Basil caught. He landed the trifecta, rainbows, browns and brookies. He had many quick releases and Basil had to land easily 30+ trout. You can’t beat a morning like that.
