Yellow Breeches, 05/11/23

I had a wonderful day with Warren and Jan. Warren has not done much trout fishing and Jan has never tried it till today. I spent much of the day with Jan and watched Warren. It was sunny out and warmed from 54 up to 80 degrees. The breeches was clear and 58 degrees. There were some craneflies and several types of caddis hatching. Jan was casting in no time so I stuck her on the water with dry/droppers first. I set up Warren with the same set up. They both missed at least 14 trout and I told them it happens I kept correcting the line control issues. We had a great streamside lunch and then I switched Jan off to tandem nymphs off indicators to teach her more fly fishing techniques. I later changed Warren to the same. They missed a few more, but ended the day on a high note. We got 10 browns and rainbows to the net. Warren got his wish. Jan is hooked into fly fishing. I just had a last minute cancellation for this Saturday May 13. The last cancellation was taken within three hours. If you want to get out and give me a call 717-321-5160. The fishing is on fire.
