So what do two guides do on a day off, well we fish. Jerry and I have been wanting to get together when things slowed down. We met at 8AM and fished to about 10AM. After that we just hung out and looked into another section of stream on Antietam that we can fish. It is just as good as what we have now. If you think it’s too warm for trout, well Red Run was 58 degrees, Antietam from 66 to 61 degrees. So we still have a summer trout fishery available along with the farmhouse stay. We guide Antietam in the morning and Red Run in the afternoon. 1/2 day trips are also your option. Come late August into fall both streams are “Red Hot” again.

There was not much hatching, still we saw a few rising browns. Jerry and I just set up with terrestrials and a dropper and just went at it. Hate missing trout. Well we all do. We did get one 10” rainbow but missed three browns all over 16 inches. Jerry had the best and it was well over 16 inches. Where else is there you can have a chance at wild trophy browns all day.
