Mountain Creek, Yellow Breeches, Letort tour, 05/16/24
I met up with Chuck before 8AM and we hit a lot of water. We had already fished together last in Erie Steelhead season with Ben Jon. Chuck moved into the area and simply wanted to see these waters and then get with me two more times to learn more waters. We went from Mt. Holly to Laurel/Fuller lake area on Mountain Creek and then down RT. 233 and started on the Upper Breeches and then hit the Upper LeTort. The weather was great. it was 59 degrees at the fly shop. Once we got in the mountain it was 52 degrees. That is why these streams are flowing cool. Both streams are flowing great. We did see some caddis and some rising trout. The LeTort is crystal clear and 52. We were not there long, but I did show Chuck how to fish streamers to entice these browns out of the dense weedbeds. So Chuck and I did spend about 2 hours fishing the Breeches and 1 hour on Mountain Creek. I set him up with double nymphs off and indicator and it that little time 15 to the net. Chuck landed a big 15 inch rainbow and a pile of wild browns. He couldn’t believe there is this much water to fish. I told him wait until you come down my way. It was a great stream tour.
