Falling Springs and Conococheague, 05/09/23
Troy and I were on the water from 8AM until 4pm. It was another stream tour today showcasing the great waters we have here in Fayetteville. We started on Falling Springs which was clear, 52 degrees and nothing hatching. Again the double nymphs fished Euro style killed them. And Troy was a very good fisherman as well. We fished over two beats of water with light rain. He crushed them. Quickly lost count of all the rainbows and browns but was well into 15 when we took off for lunch on the “Jig”. The “Jig” still has awesome flows, low 50’s and tinted. As the clouds, turned over to sunny skies we did start seeing some caddis and sulphurs. I showed Troy 5 beats of water. We fished over 4 beats quickly with double nymphs. He hit a few spots and moved to the next. We caught at least 6 more trout in each beat with Euro fished tandem nymphs. It was yet another banner day on the stream. Trout are going to be rising soon, but fishing is still amazing right now. Can’t wait to fish with Troy again. I ALSO JUST HAD A LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION FOR MONDAY MAY 15 IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED.
