Falling Springs, 8/5/22
Dave showed up at my house at 7AM and we hung out but we were on the water by 7:45AM. Dave had never fished a trico hatch so we tried it. The tricos were there, but they just would not fall. It was humid, 76 degrees and a very dark overcast sky. I set two rod up to search with terrestrials and then we actually fixed Dave’s dry fly casting. Spent about an hour on tweaking his cast and then he had it dialed in. We kept waiting for the tricos and they just hung in the air. Around 9:30AM, I decided to move to another section. But Dave did miss three trout. Rest of the morning we fished a selection of terrestrials and droppers and did well. Dave had three trout and landed a nice brown trout. He had a great time and I sure enjoyed the stream time with such a great pianist.
