Falling Springs, 4/13/22
Howard and I met up for a half day on the stream. The weather was perfect. We started at 10AM and fished till 2PM. It was 59 to start and warmed up very quickly to 70 degrees. The water was clear, 52 degrees and we were greeted with hatched of midges and caddis. I was there early and had my rod set up with double nymphs, but we did not need that. We had trout eager to take dries and dropper most of the time. So I set up Howard’s rod with a Tan Deer hair caddis and a shrimp. We fished only in the upper section of the stream and it did not disappoint. Howard lost a nice brown on a leaping fly toss, missed five and landed a good rainbow. It was a great mid-day fish. I had a lot of fun and Howard did too. Can’t beat the fishing right now. It is fantastic.
