Falling Springs, 02/08/23

I have been glued to the fly tying vise. I received a call my truck was finished and I was able to get a ride and pick it up. I only needed 20 more flies to finish a Dette fly order so I decided I had time to check out the streams. The Conococheague is running clear and I did find trout rising. I stopped oved by Falling Springs and saw more trout rising and then that “fishing itch” set in. I figured I had 1 hour, and I would still be good on the flies. I grabbed my rod and Orvis chest pack and watched the rising trout as I switched over to 6X. There were some BWO’s and abundant midges fly around. I tied on a BWO parachute and worked over the first trout. Made a nice cast and it moved and sipped my fly. It was a small wild rainbow. I kept working upstream and picked up two more. My “itch” was fixed so back to tying. Next week Monday though Thursday is to be warm out. If you want to get in a few stream hours give me a call.
