Cumberland Valley Trip 5/30/20

Had a wonderful day with Bill. He and his wife moved to the area and wanted to see several area streams. So I picked him up at his house at 8AM and we drove around the valley to the streams he was interested in. We fished a little at each stream. AS I drove Bill around I showed him all the parking areas and what flies work best. We started on Antietam. It was clear and high 50’s. Some tan caddis were hatching in ever spot we stopped at. We hit one spot and Bill picked up a nice 14” brook trout. After a tour on the upper “Jig”, he wanted to see where Big Springs was. Up there the water was clear and 52 degrees. We saw some small BWO’s but nothing rising. Once again, a 20 minute quick fish and he got two small rainbows. From there we drove back to Chambersburg, showed him three lower end sections of the “Jig and then we spent 20 minutes on Falling Springs before I showed him around. Once again, quick fish, my signature fly patterns and he got two brown trout. Was a great day and showed him years of fishing to be had. The streams are at their prime and the streams are loaded with trout. Give me a call for a great day on the water.
