Falling Spring & Conococheague 5/23/21

I hooked up with Troy at 8 and we fished the day. We had a little quiet chat and the game plan was set. He wanted to fish the Falling Springs in town and then the upper end to see my techniques on how to catch those picky wild trout. Then Troy wanted to fish the “Jig” see some spots and then fish for native brook trout. The Falling Springs was running normal, clear and 52 degrees. The “Jig was tinted and upper 50’s. On both streams we saw some caddis and midges but nothing rising. Now, on the Falling Springs we fished double nymph rigs. As always my signature patterns did the trick for most of the day. It started a little slow, but he ended up with around 9 nice trout on the Falling Springs. Two native rainbows, one nice one sighted and missed and rest stocked trout. That was about 4 hours of fishing. Then we hit four beats of water on the “Jig” and in each spot we hit trout. We caught some nice stocked trout and a pile of native brook trout. I had a great time with a fine fly fisherman. The fishing is fantastic right now, if your ready to get out of the house, give me a call for an amazing day on the water.
