Conococheague and Blue Line Brookies, 06/02/23

Chris called me the other week and set up a full day wanting to explore some of the Fayetteville area streams. We should have know each other and how we didn’t is crazy. Chris was the FSTU President and was a part of the Greenway. I was also active at the same time before I took over as FSTU’s President after Chris moved away. He was amazed by all the water we looked at and fished over today. The “Jig” and other streams were clear, 57-61 degrees but a little low. We seen plenty of caddis, tiny Blue Duns, Slate Drakes and Yellow Sallies which brough trout to the surface. They were however just feeding off and on. Old Mother Nature threw us a curve ball. It was high sun and 88 degrees by 10:30AM. It reached 92 degrees. We fished dries and droppers, then switched to just dries for the brook trout. Chris said to me that he had an awesome day despite missing a bunch of browns. He did land 1 good brown and two LDR’ed us. We had plenty of action with the brook trout. Chris caught many of them. It was a great day and can’t wait for a follow up trip to show him around some more.
