I took a quick 90 minute break from tying fly orders. This new rod I bought was just laying on the table and dying to get out. I stopped at Steely’s Meats to get more lunch meat for my upcoming guide trips then hit the water. The stream was clear and low. It is still 61 degrees. There was not anything hatching, but trout were on the rise. Can you say terrestrials!! I tied on a black foam beetle and went at it. I missed my first trout because I was more involved watch the sunshine glisten off the Thomas and Thomas fiberglass rod. I got my head in the game and brought 4 to the net and had easily an 18” plus brown brake me off in a tree fall. All the browns were over 14 inches. If you love small stream fishing the T&T Lotic is the ticket. Even with the wind, I still could cast 40’ with the old school feel. I set it up with the SA Trout Standard 120 grain textured line and that line absolutely made the rod.
