I met up with Todd at 7:45 AM and we fished to 3:30PM. It was off and on sun and warmed up to 74 degrees. He wanted to try a new rod and man what a beauty. It was a hand-made fiberglass 3wt. It was a beauty to cast. We did take a quick trip to Big Springs just because he just wanted to see the water. Big Springs was clear and 53 degrees. Not much rising and just a few BWO’s hatching. We did not fish long so we could head back to the “Jig” Todd did miss one on Big Springs. Anyway the “jig” and all the freestone streams are cold and on fire again. Before we took off the Big Springs we had two trout on the rod and missed 3. When we came back it was just the same. 5 minutes in Todd missed one. As the afternoon went on he had easily 15 more on dries and droppers. Lost a big brown pushing 20 inches and landed 6 more browns. It was a great day on the stream.
