I took a little break after knocking out two fly orders to see what the streams looked like. We had a little over 4 inches of snow and some rain yesterday. It brought the freestone streams up a little and they are still running in the mid 40’s. That is great for the season ahead of us. The water was tinted and I did see some tan and black caddis around the streambank. I fished for about an hour and caught two very nice rainbows and one small brown. Check out my Facebook page for the photos. i landed a nice rainbow and asked a gentleman if he could take a picture for me. He did so and I gave him some flies I was catching them on. I was taking them on my BH Green Caddis and my BH Pheasant Tail Jig flies. It was great to get out despite the 30MPH winds. Have to fish when you can. It’s to warm up after today. The fishing can’t be better. I have April 21, 26,28 and 29 still open. If you can plan ahead May and June are going be fantastic so plan your trip now.
