I met up with Rick for a half day, but we both dressed for what the weather man was calling for and that was not to be falling temperatures followed by snow showers. First, I want to thank Rick for his long years of service in the Army!!! Thank You Rick and all the many others. Rick is somewhat new to fly fishing and he wanted to work on stream techniques. We pushed through 3 hours on the stream and Rick was very excited and happy with what he learned from my teaching in such a short time. He said he must come up again with his son, so we discussed a few things and called it a 3 hour day and will meet up in late May. The water was still tinted, 44 degrees and nothing hatching. I showed Rick some tight-line nymphing, line mends, upstream nymph and dry fly fishing. I worked very little on his casting because he had a very good cast. It still was a good morning. He missed 4 and had a very vice rainbow on but rolled off as the trout just broke the water’s surface. Can’t wait to get him and his son out again in a few weeks.
