Conococheague, 10/3/22

Peter showed up just after 9:30AM and we fished to around 1:30. It was a cool 53 degrees, very overcast with a few raindrops. The water was a little tinted and good flow. Later in the morning, some BWO’s and some October caddis could be seen flying around. We did see a few trout rising as we hit the stream just above my house. I set up a rod with a dry/dropper set up and let Peter get at it. He had not fly fished in a long, long time so a quick casting issue was easily resolved and we set on the trout. Was not 20 minutes, Peter missed two and rolled one easily mid-teens. After that he landed three nice browns. As we kept pushing up the stream he landed one more brown and a very beautiful rainbow. Man that was a fun time on the water with a great guy. Got back to the ”Heck’s Oasis”, hung out for a bit then Peter took off and I went back to tying fly orders.
