Kevin read a stream report of mine from a while back about a big native brook trout I was fortunate to get a gentleman into. So he was interested to see if we could get one as well and also catch a few trout since he has not been fishing for trout in a few months. He arrived at my house before 10AM and we fished to 2PM. It misted on us most the day and the cloudy cover was so low and dense it almost looked like early evening out. The air was 58, water was low, clear and low 50’s. Noting was hatching, but we did eventually spot a few rising trout. Kevin put together a very nice bamboo fly rod and I set it up with a caddis dry and my BH green caddis as a dropper. He did land two native brook trout, missed two and unfortunately a nice sized one tossed the hook. As we worked upstream, I did spot some redds, so it looks as if both the brooks and browns are now spawning. After that I headed lower on the stream and Kevin rolled a pretty good brown. He then insisted that he wanted to see me work over some water to see how I fish as well. I used the same set-up and I missed one and landed a small brown.
