Conococheague, 10/11/22
I was waiting for Martin to meet at my house a 9AM for a half day trip. We were on the water by 9:15AM and fished to 1PM. It was 45 degrees and sunny to start and warmed up to 68 degrees. The water was clear, 54 and we did see some October caddis, midges and a few BWO’s. I had my rod set up with a streamer, but the dry/dropper set up was all we needed. First cast of the day Martyn landed one of many browns today. It was not much long after that he got into four more browns. I could have kept him on that beat of water, but I wanted him to see other water and 10 minutes away we parked my truck and Martin stuck another five browns. Two only fell to an October caddis and the rest were fooled by my MH BH green caddis. Got back to the house and chatted a little then he took off for home. I knocked out two fly orders and then worked on getting ready for my New York trip. I had to get something so while I was out I stopped by the Falling Springs. There were tons on midges in the air and some rising trout in the flat water. The water is crystal clear and 52. I wanted to make some casts, but I needed to start packing.
