Arthur and I met up at my house again and 8AM for a full day of fly fishing. He had seen a post and now was interested in what else the area has other then Falling Springs. So we talked it over and we started in town and worked our way up into the mountains. The water really came down quickly. It was clear and 60 degrees. We did not see many bugs at all but a few midges. There were a few rising trout, however the fall fish just kept beating the trout to the fly. The weather was a heavy overcast and warmed to 71 degrees, but you could feel the front moving in. We fished with dries and I had another rod set up with double nymphs off an indicator. Arthur missed a few trout on caddis and landed a rainbow on my BH green caddis. We had lunch 1/2 way through the tour and we talked about heading back to where we had fished the last time. We decided to keep rolling and keep the tour rolling despite what we may catch. Well, Arthur did end up with the “Jig” tri-fecta. He stuck a nice brown and we ended with a few native brook trout. It was a great time and he is excite for our spring 2024 trip to start the year.
