Blue Line Brook Trout, 05/28/24
I had a day off the water. I had to get some lunch stuff for the next few days of trips, so I hit two mountain streams for about 90 minutes. Both are 15 minutes from my house. I wanted to see how the trout did after last year. It was mostly cloudy at the time and only 70 degrees. The waters on both streams are flowing 57 degrees and just perfect flow. I set up my 6’6” Orvis Superfine and tied on a tan caddis and went at it. It did not take long before I saw how resilient these natives are to last years warm and low waters. Both streams were full of God’s beauty. I picked up well over 20 of the most beautiful trout around. If you want to get on any of the SCPA streams all I have is June 3rd, 5th and 6th. open. They will most likely go real quick.
