Big Springs, 7/23/22
I met Chris and Ian for the “Terrestrial Class” at Precision Fly and Tackle in Mt. Holly at 9AM. We were on the water from 9:20 until 1PM. It was sunny and 80 degrees and 90 by the time we left. The water was crystal clear and 53 degrees. There was nothing hatching but we still found trout rising. Can you say terrestrials! I explained the importance of summer terrestrials, what to look for, what patterns to use and so much more. I put them right on the water with the heat. We had a great time. We moved over 25 small rainbows. The trout were very pleased with the offerings of terrestrials we were presenting to them. Both guys said they learned so much and had a great time. I have three more classes coming up and still have plenty dates for guided trips. It may be hot out but our spring creeks are running cold and have trout on the feed.
