Antietam/Red Run 10/30/24
Jim, Mike and I had one last day on this amazing fishery. We hit the water at 8AM and finished up around 3PM. It was around 45 degrees and warmed under the sunny sky to 76 degrees. The water was the same. Low and crystal clear, 48-52 degrees. However, we did see caddis with all the midges and got into some dry fly action in the afternoon. We started on Antietam with nymphs and not numbers but big trout. Mike broke one off in the low 20 inch range and they landed 6, 15 to 18 inch wild browns. On Red Run, Jim stuck with nymphs and Mike fished dries. They scored another 7 more 6” to 18” wild browns. Gonna miss the water, but we will be booking again for December and dates are filling for the late March to June time frame. They loved the farmhouse stay and loved that we keep a section of stream just so guests can fish on their own while they are staying in the farmhouse.
