Antietam/Red Run, 10/29/24

Turn and burn for me. Came back from a great two days guiding in Erie and back to the trout on the best wild brown trout water in PA. Jim and Mike met me before 8AM. We fished from 8AM until 3:30PM. The water was 52, low and clear. There were a ton of midges, but nothing rising. It was a sunny day that warmed from 38 degrees to 68 degrees. It did get a bit breezy. We fished nymphs the entire day. Tomorrow will be the last trip until December due to spawning. Most of the 20+ inch browns have started. Still we had big trout on and avoided the heavy spawn areas. Despite the low and clear water condition Jim and Mike did great. We missed a few, but landed 12 two of which when over 17 inches. Tomorrow is another go at it.
