Antietam/ Red Run, 02/10/25

First trip of many this year. Tom call last week hoping he could get our for some wild browns. So we met at 9:30AM and fished to around 1PM. Weather was to be sunny and getting into low 40’s. Well, by 1PM it was still 32, cloudy and breezy at times. The water was clear. Antietam was 37 degrees, Red Run was 41 to 48 degrees near the spring heads. Tom fished nymph set-ups the entire time. It was a struggle to find any action is this cold water, plus didn’t help we had no bug action. I decided to get as high up as I could. There Tom landed 4 small wild brown trout. Got them back in ASAP with the windy air temperatures. It was a great time on the water.
