Met up with Bruce and Bob for their last full day on the water. I asked them if the wanted to hit Red Run, but answer was “NO”. They knew with the cold water action be slow and very little bug activity. I was game on to head-hunt. The water can’t be better and it will be great into July and there are openings for the farmhouse and the stream. Just get with me and we can set it up. We fished with nymphs all morning and after lunch we swung streamers. They caught I don’t know how many 10 to 14 inch wild browns and rainbows on nymphs. Bob did end up with a 20 inch wild brown nymphing. I was upstream with Bruce and just got their on the release. We ate a streamside lunch and went back at it with streamers. WOW, we had three over 24 inches get off and landed at least ten 8 to 14 inch wild browns and so many short strikes. Our water is a blessing, being a freestone with a heavy influence of springs. This makes for abundant insect populations and why we have such a huge population of wild trout. Bob and Bruce are already trying to figure out a date to get back down again yet this year. Love these guys. We finished with a nice drink on the farmhouse deck and just talked about the two amazing days.
