Yellow Breeches, Mountain Creek 4/24/22
Ben and I met with Manny and Bobby and their sons for a day of fun fly fishing. The weather was spot on. It was sunny, 50 degrees and warmed up to a pleasant 78 degrees. Both streams were sparkling clear and come 10AM some caddis and craneflies were bringing plenty of trout to the surface. We spent most of the day on the breeches and hit Mountain Creek for just about 90 minutes. We fished nymphs and then dry flies and back to nymphs for Mountain creek. Ben and I are a dynamic pair on the water. Ben took the boys and I took the dads. I love fishing with kids but so does Ben. I had the pleasure of doing my thing. Bobby had never touched a fly rod before. Manny and I had fished 2 years earlier and he had only touched a fly rod three times until today. So I got both them on the water doing simple roll cast and then had them casting over 30 feet and catching trout. But the boys! Man could they fish. They could cast well and had great control of their drifts and line. We all caught a bunch of trout. We caught some very nice stocked trout and a bunch of wild trout. The streams, the trout and the fly fishing is fantastic. I still have dates for weekdays in May if you would like to book a trip. Thank you guys for a wonderful day on the stream!
