Yellow Breeches AKA "Run", 07/13/24

So Friday I got my “Knob Hill” brother casting and missing trout. Still more to learn since I explained to Dan just how little trout move to feed, plus we still had to get the set corrected. At 8PM last night, I figure why not hit the “Run”. I don’t focus guiding up there except for educational reasons and less mobile fly anglers. Plus I needed a place for trout that will give him many chances. So Dan and I fished the Run which was clear and 54 degrees. The air was tolerable until the clouds cleared and it quickly became 93 degrees. I was going to fish as well, but just wanted the best for my buddy. I set him up with dry/droppers and just kept switching out flies. Well, Dan was casting pretty damn good. He could not see the trout at first, but I would give him a landing spot and he hit it. He missed and lost around 6, but he landed a nice brown and two rainbows. We tried the breeches real quick and he missed two lightening fast strikes. We got back to the house and hung out for a little. Dan was so happy he finally made time. Like he said to Tracy, I learned so much in this short time with Mike and caught despite not the best of trout fishing conditions. We will make time again for more adventures.
