Yellow Breeches, 09/15/23

I met up with Deb and 7:45AM at the Precision Fly and Tackle and Mt. Holly and we fished until noon. What a welcomed weather change. It was 52 degrees and warmed up to 70. It was sunny and became breezy by 10AM. The water was clear, OK flow but now down to 63 degrees. Much different that earlier this week. It warmed up and several different caddis and BWO’s started to hatch. Then the trout became more eager and aggressive to feed. We fished with dry/droppers the entire time. Deb and I started off on rising trout but I noticed she was having a little trouble casting. She has a very nice Orvis Encounter outfit. I told her it is not you but the line they put on an entry level outfit. So I put on my SA MPX Mastery and she gave it a try and said, “WOW”. Deb was now pushing 30’ of line plus the accuracy was much better. She got into a bunch of wild browns and broke off two trout, one 18 an another over 20 inches. Deb got a little too excited on the hook set for the big ones, but that has happed to all of us, me included. It was an amazing morning on the water.

It looks like fall weather if here. The streams have cooled off, insects are hatching and trout are feeding well again. I have these dates available in September, the 19-21 then 25-29 then October 2-11 the 25-29. Lets get on the water and have some fun. Dates will fill up fast since we use Go Guide now.
