Yellow Breeches, 09/11/23-09/12/23

Ben John and I, aka the “Dynamic Dou” have had the great pleasure to be guiding Dick Wills group of 8 guys for a second time this year. Dick and I spoke and I told him things are low and clear, but we have trout water to fish. These were the only dates all the guys could get together. So like last time we took four out in the morning and switched to another four for the afternoon after a nice meat, cheese platter with crackers and chips along with drinks.

As last time we had a great time. It was sunny, hot and humid both days. The water was low, clear and 64 degrees. Most all the guys fished with dry/droppers, but we did find a few situations that Ben and I had rods ready for double nymphs set off indicators. The group had a bunch of action and landed some wild browns and a few big leftover stocked trout. In two days of fish we probably caught around 20 trout. We still have Wednesday to go. I’m out in the morning with two guys and Ben has two during the afternoon. And they are already planning the spring trip with us.

Ben and I thru Precision Fly and Tackle can offer special group rates with multiple day trips both for the guiding and your stay at the Air B&B’s located in Mt. Holly. Just give us a call and set up a great fly fishing trip. As for guiding, the weather is getting cool and trout are biting. In September, I have the 19-21 and the 26 to 28 open for any last minute trips.
