Falling Springs 2/12/22
Fisher and I headed out for a real quick trip. The stream was clear, 52 degrees and I did not really see and insects flying around. It was overcast, 53 degrees and breezy. Fisher just set up for some streamer fishing. I had to re-build my leader. I set up a 11’ nymphing leader. I tied on a double rig of my gray and olive Simple Shrimp patters and above that a very light split shot. Once I got doing some high-sticking, it was windy enough my leader was being blown around. We fished for about 1 hour and I just took us to some of my favorite winter spots. I flat out missed one and had one on, but came up short for a picture. Fisher started with a leech pattern and then switched to the Double Bunnies he ties. He decided he wanted to go for Pickerel below the house. I was cool with that, but said try one more spot. He made a few cast in that hole and had a strike but did not get a good set. It was fun to be walking the waters I grew up on with my son.
