Falling Springs, 12/20/24
It has been quite a while since I have been out with all the steelhead guiding. I would get back home and it was back on fly orders. I had some last minute Christmas shopping to do today. I was 2 minutes from the stream and I knew a little section I could fish without wading. So I took about a 2 hour break and tossed some nymphs around. The water was clear and 51 degrees. Were I was fishing nothing was rising, however I did stop upstream and found a few small trout rising to midges. I was pleased to land two rainbows. It was great to just be out on the water again.
I’m still guiding the winter season. Both public and my private water. If you see a warm day just call me and we can get on the stream. I keep them at 1/2 days. 9AM or 10AM starts are best this time of year. If I don’t see you on the stream, I will see you at one of the Fly Fishing shows.
