Yes, it is mid-July and the freestone streams are still cool enough to fish. Jim and Randy met me at my house at 7:15AM and we quickly took off and fished until noon. The water was flowing fair and 62 degrees. We were greeted with craneflies, terrestrials and a Paralep spinner fall. We also had plenty of rising trout. I set both rods up with dry/droppers and we took to the stream. I switched up the dries a few times and kept with my BH green caddis dropper the entire time. It was about 50/50 on the dry to dropper takes. We did not take any trout pictures. The trout are not stressed, but water net release to ensure trout safety. Jim and Randy had a blast fly fishing in the PA mountains. We had easily 20 takes and landed over half of them. It was a great morning. This has been one of the best years in a long time. I have plenty of dates for wade trips this summer for both trout and smallmouth.
