Fisher and I got up at 530AM for our first day of trout annual tradition otting. But when we seen it was 23 degrees out we decided to got back to bed. So woke back up and we were on the stream at 930AM. We hit a very popular spot and thought it would be elbow to elbow. To our surprise must anglers were leaving. The water was clear and in the high 40’s. Only seen some midges flying around. We fished egg flies, san juans and my Mike’s BH caddis in green, tan and cream. Fisher tossed some of his streamers and he had a few strikes. We killed them on the different colors of my BH caddis. We lost some, missed a few and landed 14 rainbows. Fisher caught the biggest. He landed 2 rainbows around 16 inches and a 17 in palamino. It was another fine outing with my son.
