Blue Line fishing, 05/07/23
Roger and Lincoln showed up before 8:30AM and we fished for a half day. Lincoln is getting ready for his Brotherhood of the Junglecock test in two weeks. This time was spent more on insects, leaders and fly box preperation that both Roger and Lincoln wanted and is essential for a successful outing. We then hit the stream with the fly rods for about 90 minutes. The stream was running normal with a slight stain. We did not see anything hatching. The water temperatures have dropped into low 50’s and have slowed the hatches down. We still fished with dry/droppers as an overview of that fishing technique. I pretty much spent the entire time with Lincoln as Roger wanted. Him and I are getting together later this summer. Lincoln had four fooled but I had to refresh him on line retreive. After that he did have two nice 5 to 6 inch brookies. It was a great morning and can’t wait to hear the news of his passing the Junglecock test.
