Antietam, 03/08/24

I have been working on fly orders and knocked out more for Dette’s Trout Flies. In 16 hours, I tied up 28 dozen of my MH black stonefly nymph. Thanks the heavens I had to run down to Waynesboro today. I did what I had to and hit the stream for about an hour. It was sunny and in the high 50’s. The water was clear and flowing great. I did see some midges and watches a few early black stoneflies crawling around some streamside rocks. Nothing was no the rise. I tied on a tandem nymph rig of green and yellow MH BH caddis. I fished three runs and landed a nice brown. It was great to be walking the streams again. Next week looks to be pushing the upper 60’s. The streams are in prime early spring fishing condition.
