Paul and Wayne spent the night at the farmhouse and we fished on Sunday. It was overcast for most of the day with showers that rolled in around 2PM. It did warm to a humid 82 degrees. The water was prefect flow and temperature. At 8AM it was 58 degrees and only rose to 60 degrees. Still, like all the streams very little hatching during the day. So we set off with tandem nymphs off indicators. Paul and Wayne main focus was our trophy trout. I was game on with that and told them “Not a numbers day, but see what we provide”. Unfed wild trout that survive on a insect population that blows your mind. I also explained to them. These are wild trout and that indicator will just twitch a little during the take. Set on any movement. Well needless to say, Paul could now believe both the size and amount of trophy trout down on our water. Unfortunately they lost 4 wild browns over 22 inches. They did however land a 19 and 22 inch rainbow along with 8 or more 10 to 15 inch wild browns. They were so impressed that they are already looking at a least 1 more trip this year and 3 next year. As well, they both said the farmhouse is just about the best place to stay and so beautiful.
