Yellow Breeches and Mountain Creek, 4/30/22
I met up with Amy at Precision Fly and Tackle at 8AM and we fished to just around 4PM. It was a chilly start. The air was 38 but warmed to a nice 70 degrees. The water on both streams was clear and close to 50 degrees. Nothing really was hatching till 10AM, then we started to see craneflies, black and tan caddis. Amy told me just act like she was a “newbie” . Well, far from it. For two hours we worked on casting, stream techniques, and different fly set-ups. After that it was game on. Amy caught trout while fishing nymphs off indicators and dry/dropper rigs. She had two big rainbows on the hook and missed a bunch on dries. But Amy, did land more than I could keep count of. She landed one nice rainbow and so many good wild brown trout. It was so much fun today. Can’t wait to do it again.
