Yellow Breeches, 05/02/23
Ben and I were up and ready and we had some of the other 9 guys today. A few switched out at lunch, but we had 4 guys on the water all day. The stream came down some, but did clear up to a stained flow. It was low 50’s and we did have some sulphurs hatching in to late afternoon. Nothing really was hitting the surface. The water was still cold. It was cloudy with off and on rain showers all day. It was a cool 40 degree start and warmed to a breezy chilly 48 degrees. Both Ben and I set up with double nymphs all day. Last year we did a group trip who rebooked us this year that nicknamed us the “Dynamic Duo”. Well we did it again. At one point I just kept my net in my hand. The stream was in perfect shape for how we decided to attack it. These guys today landed easily 50 trout and some very nice wild brown trout. Some of the guys told us, they had been guided before but this was the best guide trip they ever been on for these two days given the conditions. It has been a great trip and so many laughs along the stream.
