Falling Springs, 07/26/23

Chris took a class with me years ago and was interested in some terrestrial fishing. So I suggested we meet at my house at 8AM and we fished until noon. He thought that was a cool idea since he had never fished Falling Springs before and it did not disappoint. It was sunny and quickly warmed to 90 degrees. There was a slight breezy and we were greeted to many rising trout. The water is clear and 57 degrees. I set up his tippet with SA Absolute Trout 6X and we just worked with many terrestrial patterns. Chris started off by missing several and once he corrected the set it was game on. I netted 12 browns and 2 rainbows and he easily had that many missed. Even with this warm weather the fishing on the spring creeks is still incredible. I still have plenty of 1/2 days dates and I really only need 48 hours notice. With the heat, the best fishing has been in the mornings to beat the hot air temperatures. If you have availability last minute, check out my calendar by going to www.precisionflyandtackle.com, click “View Our Fly Shop”, and click the “Book My Trip!” button and it will take you right to our booking service. Select the trip you want, select a date and it will let you know if I’m available. The fishing continues to be very good in South Central PA come join me for a great day on the water!
