Karrie arrived at my house just before 10AM so I could take her son Leo out for three hours. He was so excited and just getting into fly fishing. He had not done any casting or anything. So I too him to the “Jig” and we worked on false casting first, roll casing in the stream and then a little more casting practice. The water was rolling very dirty and still up. It is perfect for nymphs and streamers. I had Leo fish nymphs and streamers and he did very well. Leo missed four and then he got a good hook-set and we got one in the net. Leo was so excited. As HE SAID, “My first trout on a fly, I will never forget it”.
