Steve and Janis showed up at my house to finish there fly fishing lesson. We started at 8AM and were to fish until noon, but we had a issue arrive and broke off around 10:30AM. We all have become friends like anyone who has fished with me and I told them don’t worry I’ll take care of it on the next trip. The “Jig” is still flowing cool and now in good flow with the rain. It should fish great for the next few weeks. I started the day with an entomology class. Steve was confused about leaders, so I went over that as well. After that we worked on dry fly fishing and more fishing techniques that they needed to learn. It was a quick fish, but we caught 1 wild rainbow and a small brown. Yes, the “Jig” has come back! There are browns and rainbows now spawning and they are slowly coming back. The upper end is still full of native brook trout. I still have dates and the fishing is still prime. We can wade for trout or float for smallmouth. Check out the blog on my website also www.fallingsprings.com.
